The Basecamp's 1.2-liter body is drawn from a single sheet of 18/8 stainless with no coatings and a low, wide stance that sits stable on camp stoves as well as home burners, gas through induction. The handle folds flat against the lid so it packs into a bin or pannier without snagging, and the whole thing weighs under 600 grams. There is no whistle — on a camp stove you watch for the first big steam plume, then pull it and wait half a minute before brewing, which lands you close to proper brewing temperature at low elevations. Worth knowing: water boils cooler at altitude (about 1 °C lower per 300 m), so extend contact time slightly when brewing high.
