The Ebene solves the most common tamping fault — tilt — mechanically. A guide collar rests on the basket rim while the piston travels straight down inside it, so the base cannot land at an angle no matter how you hold the handle. A tilted tamp leaves one side of the puck denser than the other; water races through the shallow side and the shot runs sour and thin. With the collar doing the aligning, your only job is a firm, steady press. Depth is adjustable by thread to suit your dose, from 16 g up to 20 g in a standard 58 mm basket. Hardened stainless base, tolerances tight enough that no grounds creep past the piston. Disassembles without tools for cleaning.
