The Daybreak is the honest budget answer: a real pump machine that pulls a genuine espresso, without pretending to be more. The pump is regulated down to roughly 9 bar at the 51 mm portafilter, and the thermoblock heats in under a minute. Start with the pressurized basket — it compensates for uneven grind from a basic grinder and still produces a crema-topped shot. When you upgrade to a proper burr grinder, switch to the included unpressurized basket, dose about 14 g, and aim for a 1:2 ratio in 25-30 seconds. The steam wand is a single-hole pannarello; it makes decent cappuccino foam, though flat-white microfoam takes practice. Plastic where it can be, steel where it must be. A fair machine at a fair price.
