The Compatto One is a first espresso machine that behaves like a serious one. Its vibratory pump is regulated by an overpressure valve so extraction happens near the 9 bar that espresso actually wants, not the inflated pump maximum on many spec sheets. A thermocoil brings brew water up in about a minute, and the 54 mm portafilter takes a 14-16 g dose comfortably. Aim for a 1:2 ratio — around 15 g in, 30 g out in 25-30 seconds — and adjust your grind finer or coarser to hit that window. The steam wand produces workable microfoam once you learn to keep the milk spinning. At 26 cm wide it fits under most cabinets. Honest trade-off: single thermocoil means you steam after you brew, not during.

Excellent value. It needs a real grinder to shine — I wasted a week on pre-ground before I understood that.
Small enough for our apartment counter and it pulls a genuinely good shot once you dial the grind in. Steam wand takes practice but it textures milk properly.
