Aldercraft Kilnrow Stoneware Mug

The Kilnrow is a wheel-thrown-style stoneware mug in a warm terracotta glaze, fired hot enough that the walls are dense, chip-resistant, and slow to give up heat. Stoneware's thermal mass is its quiet advantage: preheat it with hot tap water while you brew and it will keep a cup pleasantly warm through a long email. The 300 ml capacity is deliberate — sized to a classic single pour-over or a generous double-shot drink, not a soup bowl. The rim is slightly flared, which spreads the sip and makes lighter roasts taste a touch brighter; a small effect, but real, which is why tasting vessels flare too. Microwave- and dishwasher-safe, though the glaze keeps its depth longest hand-washed. Heavier than porcelain, and better for it.
