Glass presses lose heat fast, and a French press that cools mid-steep extracts unevenly. The Ironwood fixes that with a double-wall vacuum-insulated stainless body: preheat it, brew at 200°F, and the slurry barely drops temperature across the four-minute steep. The same insulation keeps the second and third mugs hot long after pressing — though for best flavor, decant once brewed, because coffee left on the grounds keeps extracting and turns bitter. The plunger runs a fine mesh screen backed by a spring-loaded seal that wipes the wall clean on the way down. Coarse grind, 1:15 ratio, four minutes, press gently. Effectively unbreakable, which matters in a brewer you will reach for daily for a decade.
