Aldercraft Hearthspout Gooseneck Kettle

A workshop take on the pour-over kettle: matte black steel body, oiled walnut handle and lid knob, and a spout tuned for a slow, even stream. Flow control matters more than most upgrades — an even pour keeps the coffee bed level so water passes through all the grounds at the same rate instead of carving channels through part of them. The 0.85-liter capacity is right for one or two cups; fill lower and the pour gets even easier to feather. The wood stays comfortable straight off a gas or electric burner (the base is not induction-compatible, worth knowing before you buy). Hand-wash the body and keep the walnut out of the dishwasher, and it ages the way good tools do.
