A simple, honest bean jar: thick clear glass with an airtight bamboo lid and silicone gasket. The seal handles two of coffee's four enemies — oxygen exchange and kitchen humidity — and the glass itself takes on no odors and rinses perfectly clean between origins, which steel and plastic cannot always claim. The trade-off is right there in front of you: glass lets in light, and light degrades roasted coffee. So this jar belongs in a cupboard or drawer, not on a sunny windowsill, and we say so on the box. Holds roughly 250 g of whole beans, a standard bag. The bamboo lid is a renewable material and the whole jar is plastic-free apart from the gasket. Hand-wash the lid; the glass can ride the dishwasher.
